I have wondered if we can put off political correctness regarding the Ft. Hood terrorist attack and learn from this latest attack. Consider Hasan is a "good person" as defined by secular standards and he, as a Muslim psychiatrist, knew that the enemy the United States military was fighting were individuals who were followers of Islam with a unique characteristic: these individuals, whether in a group or a lone individual, have all made a conscious decision on how they themselves will get to heaven, and have decided to act upon the dictates of what the Koran instructs its followers on the concept of obtaining eternal salvation. By attacking those at the military station, Hasan cries out "God is Great" because he is doing this act to guarantee his place in heaven--whether he dies or not does not matter--in fact, I think Hasan would prefer to be dead, but being alive for a few more years doesn't matter either because now he has done the "one deed" he needed to do to guarantee an eternal life of good not bad. Simple. Hasan's actions speak louder than any other terrorists' because of his psychological background. He proliferated Islam to anyone that would listen, and it sounds like he forced people to listen. If the military cannot identify the enemy, how can they fight it? It is unfortunate that the enemy is a group of people who have fallen for the lie of Islam. As Christians, it is our duty to cry out to them that it is indeed a lie! Please listen to the truth: only Jesus Christ said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
The United States military needs to offer all current serving Muslims an "out" and they need to do it now. As a Christian, I feel first and foremost loyalty to Jesus Christ as my Savior. But I can rectify that belief while also being a patriot of the United States. If a follower of Islam cannot guarantee that the service they are providing the military is one of loyalty, the individual should be relieved of his/her duty (are there Muslim female soldiers? seriously wondering...). Because we live in America, the honesty would be respected and these people can go back to civilian lives; however, the individuals would necessarily require surveillance and this cannot be avoided. Great care should be taken that their God-given rights as citizens of the United States are not trampled on.
